Due to a vacancy in the technical working group revising the Procedure, we are looking for applicants with expertise in carbon project development and carbon finance.

FSC-PRO-30-006 Ecosystem Services Procedure: Impact Demonstration and Market Tools supports users to demonstrate positive impacts on ecosystem services contributing to climate change mitigation and provides users with improved access to ecosystem services markets.

To cover a vacant position, we would like to invite an experienced technical expert to join the Technical Working Group (TWG) that is revising the FSC Ecosystem Services Procedure.

We will focus on candidates with solid experience in carbon project development and carbon finance. Please find the application form on the FSC process page, which includes all technical and other skills we are looking for (e.g., knowledge of the FSC system, results-based payments, soft skills, etc.)

We are looking for a group with a diverse mix of views and opinions, gender identity, regional origins, disability or age. We encourage the application of female candidates as well as candidates from Asia Pacific and the Americas.

This revision process started in July 2022. A second public consultation is planned for Q1 2024 and the publication of a final draft for early 2025. The TWG members are tasked with providing input so that the Ecosystem Services Procedure:

  • is streamlined;
  • is more comprehensive, with increased clarity and simplicity;
  • provides mechanisms to lower costs, especially for community and family forests, as well as more accessible;
  • considers new technologies available and remote audit options to make validation easier;
  • And more!

To see the full scope of the revision, expected time commitment, travels, stipends and list of desired qualifications, please review the Terms of Reference and the application form on the FSC process page.

To apply, fill out the application form and send to Francesco Patiño at forestmanagement@fsc.org by 31 October 2023.
