Read now → Pixabay FSC and EU Renewable Energy Rules FSC recognizes the significant impact of the European Union's Renewable Energy Directive (RED) (Directive (EU) 2023/2413) on forest management, biomass production, and renewable energy and that the European Commission may recognize a scheme as RED compliant. For the time being, FSC has chosen not to apply for RED recognition. We note that national competent authorities can accept a non-recognized scheme as sufficient evidence of compliance.
