Announcing working group members for the Chain of Custody Standard revision

FSC has selected the working group members to revise the chain of custody standards. Thank you to the applicants who applied to support this process.

The revision will include four technical working groups comprising a core working group and three auxiliary groups focused on specific topics. FSC has finalized the members of the four technical working groups as follows:

Core working group – Is focusing on reviewing and revising the main chain of custody certification and evaluations requirements, FSC-STD-40-004 & FSC-STD-20-011. The working group members are:

1. Aliaksandr Zubkevich (Preferred by Nature)
2. Henry Krüger (Smurfit kappa)
3. Marcos Planello (Neocert)
4. Raquel Sanmartín (individual)
5. Xiaojuan Li (East InfLink)

Auxiliary working group 1 focuses on reviewing and revising the requirements for the chain of custody group and multisite certification. The working group members are:

1. Heather Ross (New Leaf Consulting )
2. Michelle Matteo (NSF)
3. Ulf Sonntag (ZGD)

Auxiliary working group 2 focuses on reviewing and revising the requirements for reclaimed material and exploring the inclusion of other circularity topics. The working group members are:

1. Andrea Perissinotto (IKEA)
2. Doug Patterson (Renewable Strategies)
3. Liz Forwand (Apple)

Auxiliary working group 3 focuses on reviewing and revising core labour requirements and implementing relevant motions. The working group members are:

1. Apolinar Tolentino (Building and Wood Workers' International)
2. Sebastian Hetsch (TUV SUD Czech)
3. Victoria Rizo (Henvix Ambiental)

Revision process background
FSC is revising its chain of custody standards as a joint revision process. For the first time, all six chain of custody documents are being jointly revised, including:

• FSC-STD-40-004 Chain of Custody Certification
• FSC-STD-40-007 Sourcing reclaimed material for use in FSC Product Groups or FSC Certified Projects
• FSC-STD-40-003 Chain of Custody Certification of Multiple Sites
• FSC-PRO-40-003 Development of National Group Chain of Custody Eligibility Criteria
• FSC-STD-20-011 Chain of Custody Evaluations; and
• FSC-PRO-20-001 Evaluation of the organization's commitment to FSC Values and occupational health and safety in the Chain of Custody
