
FSC has joined 100+ NGOs supporting the #Together4Forests movement.
The new standard will contribute to promoting responsible forest management, focusing on the inclusion of small producers, biodiversity management, and the protection of Indigenous rights. It will come into effect on 1 October 2025.
FSC has published a new interpretations document containing all valid interpretations of the FSC normative framework for Forest Stewardship Standards.
The FSC Regulatory Module was divided into separate individual addenda for certification and accreditation standards. This has resulted in the publication of 9 addenda available in the FSC Document Centre here.
FSC invites all interested stakeholders to participate in a series of webinars focused on the ongoing revision of the Principles and Criteria (P&C), International Generic Indicators (IGI) and other forest management normative documents. These sessions will provide an opportunity to engage with key aspects of the revision process, covering social aspects, climate change and biodiversity conservation, and outcome orientation.
The joint revision of FSC's general and scheme-specific standards for certification bodies has been completed and the updated versions are now published with clarified and improved certification body requirements. The alignment with certification body requirements has led to republication of the certification requirements for ecosystem services and continuous improvement.
The revised FSC-PRO-30-006 Ecosystem Services Procedure V2-0 is the conclusion of a more than two-year revision process and offers managers of FSC-certified forests and sponsors improved and new ecosystem services impacts, more robust impact demonstration requirements, clearer promotion and sponsorship requirements among other improvements!
FSC has opened the call for applications to join a working group to revise chain of custody standards based on results from the conceptual consultation. Apply from 11 December to 31 January 2025.
During COP15 in Montreal, Canada, FSC together with WWF and IKEA announced the launch of an initiative to fast-track Biodiversity Assessments in FSC-certified forests.
Consultation on the revised specific certification body standards (FSC-STD-20-007 for forest management and FSC-STD-20-011 for chain of custody) is open from 21 October 2024 to 21 November 2024 for your input
As forests in Italy change, a revised standard is needed to respond to new challenges and opportunities to support innovative sustainable forest management, enhancing the importance of forests to society. The new standard will come into force on 1 December 2024
