FSC signs joint Action Agenda Letter at COP 30 ©FSC / Célio Cavalcante ©FSC / Célio Cavalcante November 20, 2025 Category : Events As the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP30) draws to a close, the Forest Stewardship Council has joined more than 132 organizations in signing an Action Agenda letter urging negotiators to be ambitious in their negotiations, given that momentum is accelerating towards better implementation of climate Nature-Based Solutions. Action Agenda leaders and supporters presented the letter to world leaders on Wednesday, 19 November, during the Global Climate Action High-Level Closing Event: Connecting Solutions and Accelerating Implementation Actions. The letter, titled The Decade of Implementation – Seizing the Opportunity Together, emphasizes how the Action Agenda leverages the unique convening power of the COP to accelerate implementation through “coalitions of doers”—including governments, businesses, civil society, subnational entities, youth, and Indigenous organizations—who are: scaling proven solutions solving problems through collaboration sustaining implementation by governments and non-state actors It highlights the need to scale up resilience, restore ecosystems, and rapidly increase private finance for nature to benefit the communities on the front lines of climate action. FSC underscores that multi-stakeholder collaboration and greater support for responsible forest management and forest stewards are essential to building a resilient, nature-positive future. Collective action In a complex geopolitical context, this COP in Belém stands out for its focus on setting pathways for a new economic model that drives transformation and accelerates progress through collective action—known locally as mutirão. This spirit of collaboration brought together businesses, financial leaders, government representatives at all levels, and citizens to address the gaps identified in the Global Stocktake and to advance the commitments of the Paris Agreement.
