Chief Programme Officer Ria Stout Ria brings over 25 years of international experience advancing social justice and protecting biodiversity. Before joining FSC, she served as Chief Program Officer at the Rainforest Alliance, based in Guatemala, where she managed a global portfolio spanning agriculture, forestry, and sustainable landscape management. In that role, she led landscape programs, global thematic expertise areas, and the standard-setting and assurance of the organization’s agricultural certification program. In 1999, she co-founded the Utz Kapeh Foundation, leading the design and launch of a global coffee certification program. Ria holds a degree in Journalism and a Master’s in Social Anthropology and Sociology of Non-Western Societies from the University of Amsterdam. Back to Leadership Page →
