Restoring watersheds in both community and private forests
This project combines community and private forests and is restoring the watersheds of the rivers Matatiele and Breede. CMO logistics, the forest steward leading this work, is committed to fighting the invasive species that dry the watersheds and harm the biodiversity of the region.
Main achievements of this project:
- 120 per cent gained volume of water within one year of intervention
- 30 hectares cleared of invasive species
- Increased availability of water for communities and farmers
