Dr. Peter O. Alele

Dr. Peter O. Alele is a conservation leader, scientist, and sustainable development specialist. For more than 22 years, he has progressively worked with research, development, and conservation organizations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the United States. He has built a reputation for transforming complex environmental and conservation challenges into highly impactful and inspiring outcomes.

Dr. Alele was trained in ecology and conservation, natural resource management, forestry, and aspects of leadership and management at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Makerere University, and Mbarara University in Uganda. He has also received training from the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) at the University of Maryland, USA, and completed data science fellowships at UPTAKE in Chicago, Illinois, as well as at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, Department of Biostatistics. Additionally, he has participated in the University of Cambridge’s Tropical Biology Association (TBA) field training program and the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG)’s advanced field training in ecology and conservation.
