The Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) has joined the Risk Information Alliance (RIA), expanding the number of members to five organisations representing global key commodities such as timber, biomass and natural rubber.

‘’The Risk Information Alliance (RIA) brings together a wealth of risk expertise and information across different industries and standards. This information is crucial for supply chains to integrate sustainability into their operations,” said Stefano Savi, Platform Director, GPSNR.

The Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber is an international, multistakeholder, voluntary membership organisation, with a mission to lead improvements in the socioeconomic and environmental performance of the natural rubber value chain.

“As a platform working towards making the natural rubber supply chain more sustainable and equitable, the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) is part of the RIA as we see immense value in learning from and working with experts from various industries to ensure consistency in our approach to risk and jointly facilitating the production of credible and accessible risk data,’’ said Stefano Savi.

A pioneering collaboration between global sustainability leaders, the Risk Information Alliance encourages risk data sharing and cuts through the complex and costly landscape facing companies and sustainability systems.

Launched in May 2024, the Risk Information Alliance aims to align the sustainability efforts of companies and organisations faced by increasing regulatory requirements.

“We are incredibly pleased to be joined by the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber, which includes some of the most important commercial and civil society actors in the rubber sector. With GPSNR on board, we can now strengthen the collection of sustainable risk data to meet the growing demand relating to rubber supply chains,” said Peter Feilberg, CEO, Preferred by Nature.

The Risk Information Alliance is supported by the ISEAL Alliance and already includes Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Preferred by Nature, Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP) - and now, the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR).
