Reminder: Public Consultation on Controlled Wood Documents November 22, 2022 Category : General news The first drafts of the revisions of FSC-STD-30-010 and FSC-PRO-60-002a are now open for public consultation until December 15 2022. FSC invites all its stakeholders to participate in this consultation process, by clicking here (registration is required to participate). The revision of these documents serves to improve the requirements of controlled wood within the FSC system. Each document covers different topics: FSC-STD-30-010 FSC Controlled Wood Standard for Forest Management Enterprises This standard specifies basic requirements applicable at the forest management unit (FMU) level for forest management enterprises to demonstrate to a company or third party certification body that wood supplied is controlled. A major reimagining of this standard is being proposed, so participation in the consultation is crucial. FSC-PRO-60-002a FSC Controlled Wood Risk Assessment Framework The objective of this document is to provide uniform process requirements for assessing the risk of sourcing unacceptable material from certain supply areas. Its primary use is in the development of FSC controlled wood risk assessments (previously called NRAs and CNRAs). The draft proposes a number of important changes to the future contents of FSC controlled wood risk assessments while maintaining the fundamental basis of the existing risk assessments. FSC would like its stakeholders to participate in this consultation process by responding to the questions found in the FSC Consultation Platform (registration is required to participate). Descriptions of the different elements and sections open for stakeholder feedback are available in the FSC Consultation Platform.
