Update regarding the upcoming consultation

The European Commission has introduced multiple simplification packages and clarifications for the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) since the publication of the FSC Regulatory Module in July 2024, including the latest simplification package released on 4 May 2026. To ensure continued alignment with the evolving regulatory framework and implementation requirements, FSC is initiating an accelerated revision process for the Regulatory Module. This revision will bring the Regulatory Module up to date with the latest (April 2026) version of the regulation, which will enter into enforcement for large and medium-size enterprises on 31 December 2026.

We will be seeking feedback on the changes to the following standard addenda as the result of the EU Simplifications

  • FSC-STD-60-004r V1-1 Regulatory Module - International Generic Indicators
  • FSC-STD-30-005r V1-1 Regulatory Module - Forest Management Groups
  • FSC-STD-20-007r V1-1 FSC Regulatory Module - Forest Management Evaluations
  • FSC-STD-30-010r V1-1 FSC Regulatory Module - Controlled Forest Management
  • FSC-STD-40-004r V1-1 Regulatory Module - Chain of Custody Certification
  • FSC-STD-40-006r V1-1 Regulatory Module - Project Certification
  • FSC-STD-20-011r V1-1 Regulatory Module - Chain of Custody Evaluations

Subject to the feedback received from this consultation, FSC is aiming to publish the revised regulatory modules on August 15, 2026.
