Introducing: FSC EUDR Aligned Early Adopter Programme

Are you an FSC certificate holder and need to comply with the upcoming EU Regulation on Deforestation-free Products (EUDR)? You might qualify to become an early adopter of FSC EUDR Aligned.

Since the EUDR came into force in June 2023, FSC has been dedicated to strengthening its system and developing new technologies to support our certificate holders to meet these requirements. FSC EUDR Aligned will provide a set of integrated tools to tens of thousands of companies – at different points along the value chain and with vastly different needs – to help meet EUDR legality, sustainability, and due diligence obligations.   

We are ready to onboard a select number of companies to start testing our solutions.   

The FSC EUDR Aligned Early Adopter Programme will invite the selected companies to implement this suite of solutions – starting with the FSC Regulatory Module – so we can scrutinize how they function in real supply chains. At the same time, trusted companies will have the chance to test-drive the innovations to help make complex supply chains deforestation-free ahead of EUDR enforcement in December 2024.   

Broken into modules, the programme will allow us to examine the impacts and changes required from the perspective of a certificate holder. The modules will cover:  

• The FSC Regulatory Module  
• The Risk Assessment Framework  
• FSC Blockchain  
• Digital Compliance Upgrade, a final module connecting all these tools to create Due Diligence Statements.

Places are limited. The deadline for application to participate in this first wave of the programme is 28 March.   

Who is eligible? We are looking for companies of all sizes, located at any point along the value chain, and in any country. The application is also open to Certification Bodies, who want to help be a part of the new solutions development. 

To participate in the programme you will need to sign an agreement and our electronic Trademark agreement if you haven’t done so already.   

Can companies continue applying after 28 March? Yes, the application will remain open and further updates on this page will provide information on future rounds of application.   

Is the programme open to Promotional Licence Holders? The programme is currently only open to FSC Certificate Holders and their Certification Bodies, and we are exploring the possibility of opening it up to Promotional Licence Holders at a later stage.  

What is the timeline for participation? The EUDR Aligned Early Adopter Programme will take place between April and September 2024.
