We are looking for an engaged Trademark Manager (m/f/d) who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

The Scope

Latest consumer research shows that more than 50% of global consumers recognize the FSC logo. This position offers the opportunity to work with the famous FSC trademarks to achieve FSC´s mission of Forests For All Forever.

In managing the FSC trademarks the candidate will engage with an array of stakeholders:
From leading global brands to smaller companies, all committed to responsible forestry; organizations from our diverse membership such as environmental and social NGOs; collaboration across our teams in the Markets and Communication Unit and beyond.

Together with our stakeholders we want to move the market to more sustainable practices, with the FSC trademarks being a vehicle and incentive for change.

The Trademark Manager advances the visibility and correct use of the FSC trademarks in line with the strategic goals of the organization. The Manager develops and provides trademark related services for companies in forest product value chains.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • To support the development and implementation of trademark use requirements and services for different user groups including FSC-certified companies and promotional licence holders.
  • Engage with companies to drive visibility and correct use of the trademarks in line with the organization´s goals.
  • To provide and develop bespoke trademark related services and processes for global companies FSC International engages with for strategic reasons, in collaboration with FSC account managers.  
  • To oversee and respond to trademark related inquiries from different user groups.
  • To oversee the development and update of trademark guides, training materials and tools for users.
  • To support communication and knowledge sharing of trademark related information of the FSC team globally.
  • To oversee the processing of misuse cases of trademark users.
  • To ensure the maintenance of various databases and files for Trademark Service.
  • To work together collaboratively with other team members to best fulfill the responsibilities.
  • Additional tasks as agreed with the supervisor and project work as assigned by special organizational needs.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Education and Training:
    • University degree or equivalent training in a related field, such as business administration, economics, international relations, marketing, communications, forest product markets, law.
  • Working Experience, Style and Skills:
    • At least 5 years of professional experience in trademark management, certification schemes, sustainability, global market development, corporate social responsibility or other related fields.
    • Experience in working with international organisations or international project teams.
    • Very strong English writing and speaking skills.
    • Ability to perform well while handling simultaneously several processes and projects.
    • Solutions and service-oriented attitude to work.
    • Project management experience and proven ability to plan and organize work.
    • A strong sense for diligence and accuracy.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer Skills: Good skills in the use of/experience with:
    • Standard software packages (MS Office).
    • Database management platforms are a plus.
    • CRM (Customer Relations Management) is a plus.
  • Language and Communication Skills:
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
    • Spanish (spoken and written) is a plus.
    • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years contract (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
  • Travel: Sporadic travel is required.
