Join consultative forum for Cultural Ecosystem Services

FSC has initiated the process related to the implementation of Motion 53/2021 ‘Policy Motion to incorporate into ecosystem services the recognition of cultural services and practices to strengthen and endure over time the interconnection of Indigenous and Traditional Peoples’.

The process consists of expanding and strengthening the FSC Ecosystem Services Procedure by developing specific additional services and market claims for Indigenous and Traditional Peoples through the Cultural Ecosystem Services Claims.

Applications are open until 28 February 2026.

For the consultative forum, FSC seeks applications from experts interested in providing ongoing, direct, and meaningful input into the process to support the working group. The consultative forum may be consulted on specific issues to gather feedback and technical insights from members with relevant expertise.

FSC is looking for interested stakeholders with expertise in the following topics:

• Indigenous and Traditional Peoples' local governance and organizational models.
• Metrics for measuring and assessing the livelihoods, social impacts, and equity in forest communities and ecosystems.
• Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) and metrics for measuring and qualifying the sociocultural aspects of Indigenous and Traditional Peoples.
• Qualitative data collection and/or ethnographic methods.
• Responsible forest management and forest management certification.

Applicants who speak English, Spanish, or French may apply.
