Jeanette Clarke

Jeanette Clarke (M.Sc in Tropical Resource Ecology) serves on the FSC Policy and Standards Committee, representing social south sub-chamber. Her first term began in 2020 and she is now serving her second term. Jeanette is an independent forestry consultant and social specialist with nearly 30 years of experience in the FSC system, both with certification auditing and standards development. Jeanette was the coordinator of the South African Standard Development Group that developed the SA FSS and has been involved in the development of a number of Forest Stewardship Standards in Africa including Tanzania, Eswatini, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Jeanette has a particular interest and expertise in social aspects of commercial timber production including forestry labour, community engagement, land rights and corporate social responsibility. She served on both FSC ILO Core Conventions Working Groups.
