We are looking for an engaged Trademark Market Development Manager Europe who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

The Scope

All over the world, consumers recognise and value the FSC label on products. FSC Promotional Licences are designed for brands and retailers that sell or use FSC-labelled products and would like to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable forest management. The Trademark Market Development Manager Europe will promote FSC Promotional Licences in countries in Europe and the Middle East with no national FSC presence. This position offers the opportunity to engage with a wide range of brands and retailers committed to sustainable forestry. Together with our stakeholders, we drive the demand for FSC-certified products and move the market to more sustainable practices, with the FSC Promotional Licences being a vehicle for change.

 

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • To drive demand for FSC certified products in selected European and Middle Eastern countries through promotion of Promotional Licences.
    • To identify and segment brands and retailers that sell or use FSC certified products.
    • To guide and negotiate with brands and retailers on new Promotional Licences.
    • To guide Promotional Licence Holders on how to use the FSC trademarks, ensuring that communication is in line with FSC requirements.
    • To run annual controls of companies’ marketing and communication of FSC certified products.
    • To monitor and manage FSC trademark infringement cases.
    • To ensure invoices for Promotional Licence Agreements are sent out on time, contracts are renewed on a needs-basis and information in central databases is kept up to date.
    • To coordinate the translation of sector-specific promotional materials.
    • To support incoming requests from stakeholders including companies that want to obtain Chain of Custody certification.
  • To support European Network Partners with scaling the promotion of Promotional Licences across the region.
  • To proactively build out global sales capabilities, methodologies, and tools for Promotional Licences.
  • Any other task as assigned by formal supervisor and project work as assigned according to special organizational needs.

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • Education and Training:
    • University degree, or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. Business Administration, Marketing, Economics).

 

  • Working Experience, Style and Skills:
    • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following: sales and market development, account management, marketing and/or related fields.
    • Ability to manage a client portfolio across several countries and in a multicultural environment.
    • Strong sales and negotiation skills, trusted relationship builder.
    • Administration skills and attention to detail.
    • Solution and service-oriented attitude to work.
    • Strategic thinking and business mindset.
    • Proven ability to plan and organize work.
    • Networking skills.
    • Ability to work well as a member of a multi-cultural, inter-disciplinary, multi-lingual, global team.
    • Experience working with brands and retailers would be an advantage.

 

  • Language and Communication Skills:
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
    • Fluency in Turkish or an Eastern European language a plus.
    • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills that contribute to cohesive team efforts and decision making.

 

  • Computer Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:
    • Standard software packages (MS Office).
    • Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems, for example Salesforce.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years contract (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
  • Travel: Significant travel is required (>30%) in target regions.
