We are looking for an engaged Financial Accountant who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

 

The Scope

To contribute to the smooth operation of the finance department by carrying out accounting activities and financial transactions in line with the principles of orderly bookkeeping.

 

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • To verify and book financial transactions.
  • To prepare payment runs in SAP Business by Design and upload to the banking system.
  • To verify and follow up on invoices by third parties.
  • To set up, maintain and contribute to the reconciliation of accounts and cost centers.
  • To support the correction of accounting discrepancies.
  • To support year-end closing activities.
  • To provide advice notes.
  • To reply to email enquiries on purchase invoices.
  • To file finance documents.
  • To check invoices and prepare payments for FSC A.C. in Mexico.
  • Any other task as assigned by formal supervisor and project work as assigned according to special organizational needs.

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • Working Education and Training:
    • Training as financial accountant recognized in Germany, for example IHK, or equivalent.
  • Working Experience, Style, and Skills:
    • At least 3 years of professional experience in financial accounting in Germany.
    • Experience in project controlling would be an asset.
    • Good time management skills, ability to perform well while handling simultaneously a number of functions.
    • Solution- and service-oriented attitude to work.
    • A strong sense for diligence and accuracy.
    • Good communication skills.
  • Languages:
    • Fluency in German and English (spoken and written).
    • Spanish is a plus.
  • Computer Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:
    • Good skills in the use of standard software packages (MS Office, especially in Excel).
    • Experience in the use of SAP Business by Design is an advantage. 
  • Others:
    • Experience in working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, global team.
    • Experience in working in / with an NGO or Non-Profit Organization.
    • Commitment to FSC’s mission and values.
    • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diversity of values, views and approaches to issues relevant to the FSC program by stakeholders around the world.
    • Familiarity at the general level with the scope of FSC’s programs or basic understanding of the scope of FSC’s programs and activities.
    • Ability to represent FSC through his/her work with exemplary personal and professional authority and conduct.
    • High level of accuracy, diligence, and timeliness.
    • Zero-incident orientation.
    • High level of service orientation.
    • Compliance with internal procedures, policies, and the principles of orderly bookkeeping.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Bonn, Germany
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week. (Part time is also possible)
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance)
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible
  • Travel: Sporadic travel is required
