We are looking for an engaged Project Officer/ Manager-Value Chain Development, who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

The Scope

To facilitate the development of market sector - eCommerce and Retailer and increase the uptake and awareness of FSC by driving sustainable shopping strategy. Based on defined market strategy, you drive multiple projects and effectively implement action plans.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • To manage multiple projects simultaneously and report project progress.
  • To support eCommerce market development expansion and FSC market impact evaluation (including the following activities): deepen the collaboration with existing key partners in eCommerce; market development & business development with key players in the eCommerce space; project coordination & operations for already-launched sustainability programs; and impact analysis on FSC current business model.
  • To support/lead the establishment and rollout of sustainability shopping solution (including the following activities): short- term self-service solution enhancement; mid-term minim viable solution implementation, pilot and rollout. 
  • To coordinate and produce eCommerce and Retailer sector specific marketing and communication materials in collaboration with the responsible departments.
  • To manage the implementation and coordination of partnerships/relationships between FSC and relevant eCommerce and Retailer sector players.
  • Additional tasks as agreed with the Value Chain Development Programme Manager.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Education and Training:

  • University degree in a relevant field or equivalent (e.g. Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Computer Science, Informational Technology, Forest Products, etc.).

Working Experience, Style and Skills:

  • At least 5 years of project management or consulting experience in one or more of the following: sales/market/business strategy, global market development, strategic key account management, product management and/or related fields.
  • Proven track record in managing market development partnerships, working on sustainability in value chain development.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional project teams and managing complex projects.
  • Experience in working with international organisations and international project teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of eCommerce/Retail industry, market, value chain, and trends is a plus.
  • Experience in forest-based industries would be an advantage.
  • Experience with agile product management would be an advantage.
  • Experience with technical solution development would be an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be ready to deal with uncertainty/ambiguity.
  • Networking skills.
  • Strategic thinking and business mindset.
  • Good time management skills: ability to perform well while handling simultaneously a number of functions.
  • Service and solution-oriented attitude to work.

Communication Skills:

  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills that contribute to cohesive team efforts and decision making.
  • Active-listening skills.

Computer Skills:

  • Standard Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Languages

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • Other language proficiency is a plus (e.g. German, Spanish,…).

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Working Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week).
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
  • Duration of Employment: 2 years contract (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
  • Sporadic travels.
