We are looking for an engaged Head of Organizational Effectiveness who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

The Scope

As a member of our global leadership team, you will lead a newly formed unit that is tasked with creating tools, systems and processes that take our organizational effectiveness and efficiency to a new level as we continue to grow while implementing our ambitious Global Strategy.  

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance our annual and mid-term operational planning processes and oversee their execution.

  • Create a high-level business process overview and subsequently a set of more detailed process descriptions where needed to enhance our effectiveness and efficiency; evaluate the costs and benefits of process certification and or quality management systems.

  • Support and strengthen a project and program management system and culture that creates results orientation while balancing agility, reliability, standardization, accountability, collaborative effectiveness, and people development.

  • Lead, structure and oversee the procurement policies and activities of the organization; develop approaches to enhance our organizational capabilities around sourcing and partnering. 

  • Lead, facilitate and/or support cross functional global initiatives in a variety of fields such as internal service level agreements, digitization, records & document management, ethics & compliance, specific management accounting projects, business case analysis, risk management.

  • Provide support to critical high-profile projects by advising on and facilitating the development of structures, plans, mandates, monitoring mechanisms, etc.   

  • Develop general and function-specific approaches to track and measure our organizational performance.

  • Support the Chief Operating Officer on special assignments.

Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • University degree in business administration, international management, engineering, economics, business law or another relevant field, MBA or similar are a plus.

  • More than 5 years of work experience, thereof at least 3 years in a high profile internal or external management consulting environment.

  • Experience in people supervision as either team lead or in the context of large projects.

  • Outstanding analytical, conceptual, and communicative skills paired with an ability develop these skills in others. 

  • Effective cross-collaborator who liaises across the organization to ensure consistent messaging and consolidated technical analysis of relevant matters. 

  • Readiness to take contested positions, aptitude to hold difficult conversations, and strong ability to deal with conflict.  

  • Eye for both technical detail as well as strategic aspects with a results-oriented approach.

  • Technical expertise and experience in at least two of the following areas: project management, process management, procurement, strategic planning, corporate development, management accounting. 

  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills to support clear and concise communication and consistency in messaging and approach, fluency in German, Spanish or French is a plus. 

  • High level of motivation to work with efficiency, flexibility and diplomacy under tight deadlines and pressure, both autonomously and as leader of a small team. 

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Bonn, Germany.  

  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week (part time of 60% or more could be considered).

  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible). 

  • Starting Date: 01 April 2022 (negotiable).

  • Travel: Sporadic travel is required.
