We are looking for an engaged leadership personality who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment. 

The Role

Depending on your seniority, working experiences and expertise you will either be our new Global Network Deputy Director or Global Network Programme Manager.      

The FSC Global Network is core to FSC and supports FSC deliver on its global mission. It is a dynamic and diverse network composed of over 60 country operations. The objectives of the network team are to support and lead a thriving FSC network that enables FSC delivering on its global priorities.  

Reporting to the FSC Global Network Director in this new position, you support to the operational management of the FSC network, with a specific emphasis to oversee and execute the data-driven direction that the FSC Network team has embarked on.  

You can work fluently across cultures, countries, and FSC global impact areas to assess FSC’s potential. You support and guide country leaders, regional directors and teams, as well as strategic global decision making with relevant insights and by initiating and leading focused interactions.

You look for pragmatic solutions that support colleagues across our network in their various endeavours. You go the extra mile to include others in your work and you build a strong personal internal network across hierarchies and functions. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support well-informed strategic direction setting for FSC operational network development: obtain a good understanding of certification trends and bottlenecks that may hold FSC back, through discussions with various internal stakeholders including country leaders.

  • Oversee data gathering, insight development and results reporting to assess operational compliance with agreed commitments. This includes working closely with FSC’s data team to evaluate current network reporting and the Country Factbooks, and develop a comprehensive way to evaluate Network performance.

  • Monitor results from FSC’s annual strategic investment: take a lead in tracking outcomes based on quarterly regional reporting together with the Regional Directors, keeping a good overall view on the progress towards FSC’s strategic objectives.

  • Oversee the resources, work planning, contractual handling, and relevant budget decisions for the Network and supervise the support functions that will report into this role.

  • Work effectively with Regional team staff and other units in HQ to assure smooth and professional handling of administrative and contracting processes and encourage cross-unit collaboration.

  • Support and drive various other key deliverables for the network team including the Global Staff Meeting, the Annual Feedback Survey of the Network, and provide support to prepare for network discussions at the FSC International Board of Directors meetings.

Qualification, Experience and Skills

We look for a track record of the following qualifications in the experience set of the candidate: 

  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and conceptual skills with demonstrated experience in analyzing the problem and in bringing contents together in a concise and coherent picture that bring complex situations to understanding, reflect (creative) solutions you have identified, to drive well-informed decisions.

  • Ease of handling data and firm grasp of handling numbers with experience in financial/data modeling, experience in thinking through the setting up of data infrastructure such as Power BI to collect, organize and present relevant insights from a wide pool of information sources.

  • Independency in managing projects, with hand’s on approach to coordinate the team’s activities that report into this role.

  • Effective cross-collaborator who liaises with peers, Directors, and others across the organization to ensure work is delivered on schedule.  

  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills to support clear and concise communication and consistency in messaging and approach.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and in cooperation with diverse stakeholders from a multitude of cultural backgrounds on sensitive issues, while maintaining balance and the solid aptitude to manage and respond to divergent views.

  • High level of motivation to work with efficiency, flexibility and diplomacy under tight deadlines and pressure, both autonomously and as leader of a team.

  • Preference for candidate who has gained these qualifications and skills as a business analyst or associate in a consulting environment.

  • University degree or equivalent.

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: preference for Bonn, Germany.  

  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week. 

  • Duration of Employment: 2 years (extension possible). 

  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
