As reported earlier, six international members and a representative of an accredited FSC certification body were tasked to revise FSC-GUI-30-003 V1-0 FSC Guidelines for the Implementation of the Right to Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC). However, after their first in-person meeting earlier this month, the working group requested of the FSC International Board of Directors to reassess the needs of the project to consider the impact of controlled wood and other parts of the FSC system. The working group has contributed their input towards a second draft version of the guide and is waiting for confirmation of their request to change the FPIC project's scope.
