Approved by the FSC Board of Directors in March – requires the development of related international generic indicators (IGIs). FSC has now established a technical working group that will develop these IGIs.
A steering committee decided the composition of the technical working group to develop the IGIs according to the criteria defined in the terms of reference of the working group.
Below is the composition of the technical working group:
|FSC Pesticides Policy Working Group||Social member||Lain Dare||University of Canberra||Australia|
|Environmental member||Debbie Muir||Department of Environmental Affairs,
|Economic member||Colin Maunder||Timberlands Limited||New Zealand|
|External experts in…||Audits||Beth Jacqmain||SCS Global Services||USA|
|Forest Management||Luís Renato Junqueira||IPEF (Instituto de Pesquisas e Estudos Florestais)||Brazil|
|Standard development||Owen Davies||FSC UK||UK|
FSC staff working on forest management projects have already had a kick-off online meeting with the technical working group members on 3 August.
As next steps, the members of the working group will have regular online calls before attending their first face-to-face meeting in Bonn – most probably in December.
