As part of the landmark FSC project, “ForCES – Forest Certification for Ecosystem Services”, aimed at enhancing the FSC certification system for forest managers who target key ecosystem services, the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) is working with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) on a study of the market potential for such a scheme. Details about the project can be found here.

FSC certified forest managers, particularly where they have already gained knowledge and experience with ecosystem services can greatly assist FSC in developing this extended certification model for ecosystem services. For this reason, CIFOR will soon send you an invitation to all FSC forest management certificate holders and request their participation in an online survey.

The survey has 14 questions on topics such as certification costs, your project experiences related to ecosystem services, and your preferences for ecosystem services and certification characteristics. Data collected will be used only for this study, and an individual’s responses will remain anonymous.

The online survey will open in July 2012. We would greatly appreciate if you could take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire.

On behalf of CIFOR and the FSC-led ForCES project, we thank you in advance for your participation.
