The Policy for Association sets out a commitment for everyone who is part of FSC: to uphold FSC’s core values by avoiding destructive activities anywhere you operate. It holds organizations involved in damaging social and environmental activities to account.
This policy is one of the key FSC policies that strengthen the protection of the forests and the communities living in them. FSC is now conducting a second consultation of the revised policy.
This second draft is based on stakeholder comments of 68 respondents received during the first consultation in May – July 2021. The direction of changes was generally supported by respondents, but several clarifications have been made and examples and definitions revised and added to this second draft. These include, for example, change proposal for wording for unacceptable activity regarding workers’ rights and a revised definition for significant conversion.
