One of the things that makes FSC a great organization is that we never stand still – we are always working towards our mission, learning and improving on the way. This is why we are updating our current processes for association and conversion. These changes will ultimately help us become a better FSC.
The updates include two policies and two procedures that will be finalized in 2022. They will affect every organization associated with FSC. We have recently completed consultations on three of these, with a total of 188 feedback submissions.
So, what happens next?
The new policies and procedures are heading for board approval, which will take place at the end of 2021 or 2022. These documents are still in development, and will only be taken to the Board when they are final.
The Policy for Association will be subject to a further online consultation in October and November 2021. The Policy for Association Remediation Framework will be open for consultation in January 2022.
In addition to consultations, there will be other opportunities to engage with the updates. These include members’ meetings and motion webinars where there will be open discussion, as well as the the FSC General Assembly. Find out more here.
As we move forward with these exciting changes, now is the time to make your voice heard! The future of FSC is your future too, and the future of our world’s forests.
Please get in touch if you have any questions. You can also have a look at the short video explaining the policies here.
