Effective 1 January 2019, ADVICE-20-007-19 Forest Management Auditing Time sets minimum auditing times for conducting forest management audits. The auditing times are primarily determined by the size of a management unit and the type of audit. In addition, a set of in total eleven factors shall be considered to either increase or decrease the auditing time, for example the presence of high conservation values (HCVs) or the number of open non-conformities. This advice note is aligned with our global strategy and aims to increase the quality and consistency of audits in the FSC system. Full details are available in the FSC-DIR-20-007 Directive on FSC FM Evaluations on pages 26-28.
