FSC Russia began the national forest stewardship standard (NFSS) revision process in 2014 to align with the FSC Principles and Criteria (V5). From 2015, the revision process also included the incorporation of the international generic indicators version 1.0. A chamber-balanced standard development group has developed the NFSS with engagement of companies, NGOs and social stakeholders, including representatives of indigenous peoples. The draft of the NFSS passed a first public consultation in 2016 and a second in 2017.

Please visit the FSC Russia website for more details on the development of this new version of the standard. For more information, please contact Nikolay Shmatkov, FSC Russia Director: n.shmatkov@fsc.org.
