Since 2015, FSC has worked to develop complete certified textile supply chains. We support forest owners, manufacturers, brands and retailers to sell clothing and other products bearing an FSC-certified label. Our label helps to verify that these products are sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Cellulose fibres are crucial components to a complete textile supply chain.

Conference on an increasingly demanded product

Although cellulose fibres constitute less than seven per cent of the global fibre market, demand for them is forecasted to grow by more than nine per cent between 2016 and 2024. These fibres are not only the fastest growing fibre group in textiles, they are also the largest investment sector in the bio-based economy and one of the solutions to reduce microplastics when washing textiles.

The conference will cover the entire value chain from the lignocellulosic feedstock, dissolving pulp, and cellulose fibres, to the wide range of applications. These include everything from woven textiles used for clothing to non-woven textiles used in wipes and technical applications. Other topics will include micro- and nanocellulose for food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
