The FSC Guidelines for FPIC (FSC-GUI-30-003 V1-0), describes the concept of FPIC and the step-by-step approach for designing and implementing an FPIC process on the ground. It ensures conformity with the FSC Principles and Criteria and the National Forest Stewardship Standard requirements in forest operations.
The working group advanced the work at its third in-person meeting, an intense four-day workshop held in Wendake/Quebec, Canada from 3 to 6 June 2019. Primary objectives included the analysis of the public consultation of draft version 1.0 and the preparation of draft version 2.0 of the Guidelines FSC-GUI-30-003 V2.0, incorporating the perspective of an auditor. In addition, the road map for the Indigenous Peoples Manual, a cooperation project by the PIPC and FSC, was discussed. The manual aims to make the FPIC guidelines more accessible for Indigenous Peoples.
