Should we revise the documents?

We are suggesting their full revision to address stakeholder feedback received since the last revision in 2014. Additionally, the amendment would help to introduce best practice on dispute resolution and grievance mechanisms. We’re also trying to reduce the reliance on lengthy formal processes and give more space to alternative approaches.

Please let us know if you think these documents need revision or not. If you support a revision, we’d also like to hear your thoughts on the topics the changes should focus on.

This revision is proposed as part of an overall review of FSC’s dispute resolution system. The aim is to make the system more effective, streamlined and outcome focused.

Deadline and expected participants

We welcome all stakeholder feedback and would particularly like to hear from:

  • people who submitted complaints to FSC
  • people, or representatives of people, who have found it difficult to access FSC’s dispute system
  • companies that have handled grievances
  • certification bodies that have handled grievances.

The consultation is open from 10 December to 31 January. We will publish the results once that period ends. Thanks to all those who have already sent us their thoughts and helped shape the discussion.
