Driving solutions for the Gran Chaco FSC Argentina FSC Argentina creates market opportunities for small producers and forest communities FSC Argentina July 3, 2026 Category : General news FSC Argentina contributed to the launch of the Gran Chaco Technical Assistance Platform (PATCHACO), an initiative that brought together more than 160 representatives from the productive sector, academia, technical institutions, and civil society to promote production models that combine conservation with sustainable development across the region. Led by INTA, The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Fundación Gran Chaco, FSC Argentina, Redes Chaco, the National University of Chaco Austral (UNCAUS) and other regional partners, the platform promotes responsible forest management as a strategy to improve livelihoods for small producers and Indigenous Peoples by integrating scientific knowledge with sustainable production practices. FSC Argentina As part of this initiative, FSC Argentina highlighted the potential of forest products sourced from responsibly managed native forests, particularly charcoal produced by families and Indigenous communities in the Dry Chaco. This work helps connect these producers with international markets that increasingly demand products backed by traceability, responsible sourcing, and verified sustainability. In addition to its technical contribution, FSC Argentina played a key role in developing the platform's communications strategy, collaborating with partner organizations to create its visual identity, key messages, and coordinated outreach activities.
