The continuous improvement concept focuses on reducing the initial effort that FSC certification requires, by dividing the requirements into flexible steps. Smallholders and communities should then have an easier start in the FSC system and benefit from FSC certification from the beginning.
To include this concept into the policies of their organization, the FSC International Board of Directors approved the development of an international procedure. After a call for applications over December and January, FSC analyzed the applications received and chose the following technical working group members:
|Doralice Ortiz||Colombia||Aldea Global|
|Severinus Jembe||Kenya||Soil Association|
|Jens Kanstrup||Denmark||Forests of the World|
|Oliver Bach||Costa Rica||Sustainable Agriculture Network|
FSC established a Consultative Forum to discuss technical issues related to this process. This forum is open to any stakeholder and will regularly inform its members about the development process and consultations. If you would like to be part of the consultative forum, please fill in this form.
The continuous improvement procedure is being developed under the banner of FSC´s New Approaches for Smallholders and Communities Certification project.
If you would like to have more information about the continuous improvement procedure, please visit the process page or contact Rosario Galán, FSC New Approaches Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
